Good choice! Think of how much better you'll appreciate the components of all your other games. That alone is worth the price :)

I'm in your camp. The brothers could have made better decisions regarding the materials and user interface of the game, but gameplay rocks. You'll get used quickly to the components and find that their quality is no hindrance to enjoying the game.
At least, that's what happened to me.
