I just started playing this today and it's really drawn me in. I've had the solo rules for a while but didn't grok the flowchart for some reason. Probably the game itself is different than what I'm used to

I do have a few questions.

1. When Pia plays a ship and then draws a landlocked province does she : not place a ship / choose random sea / keep drawing for a seaside province ( with chaining of cards ) ?

2. If a card can't be resolved the flowchart says to discard it. I've been using this as one of Pia's actions. Should I be redrawing ? I'm not sure if I'm playing this correctly.
