Dave, you definitely have to check out your copy. My understanding is there were serious issues with printing of this game :(

You might want to take a look at the errata document again. There is ONE errata card that is "game affecting" and even then it is EASY to correct.

Yes, a lot of errata but none of it is really serious. I have played it successfully without the errata several times. With the errata several times and never had serious trouble.

It is possible that you have read the errata and had serious issues. Not every game works for every player.
