Hey I’m thinking about doing Mind Flayers as a custom race ( https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Mind_flayer ), but could use some feedback on the ability and number of units.

Basically Mind Flayers are psionic strong monsters that can transfer many humanoid races into new Mind Flayers. But as the sorceres already already have that ability I was thinking about using their “mind blast” ability.

Mind Flayers ability: Once per turn you may mind blast an active adjacent enemy tile, as long as it is not an undead race such as ghouls or skeletons. All units in that tile are stunned until the Mind Flayers next round. Mind blasted units cannot be picked up by their owner in their turn, used for conquest or redeployed, but still score points. If the mind blasted race go into decline normal rules apply.
If the Mind Flayers attack a “Mind Blasted” tile then they use one less unit than normal (minimum 1 unit).

Number of units: 5

The idea is that opposing players are left in a dilemma. Reinforce your border towards the Mind Flayers too much and they may become useless to you, leave too few and your lands will get invaded.
