So far, I've only played this with 2 player (with suggested variant in forums here) and 3 player. Here are my initial thoughts and I'm curious as to how 4 and 5 player compare. 2 Player with the dummy bot plays decent, but because it's more of a head to head game and 1 really random factor, it made for an interesting game, but not one I'd come back to play again unless it's been a while that I've played the game. With 3 player, it was really fun. We played 2 games in a row (about an hour each with teaching the first game). We didn't draft the first round of the first game while I taught, but adding the draft through the rest really throws another thought process tool into the mix. You plan for what you think people will do and after playing a few times now, I'm starting to realize the design of this game is spot on and so far I've not seen a flaw in the system. I can understand that it is different than many games out there, but it had enough control that it felt like it wasn't just play this card because this one is played, etc... I think the group could really determine how this plays out though and thankfully most of the people I play with enjoy all types and they really enjoyed this game as other than Joraku, this is the first 'trick-taking' board game we've played. We all though that adding another player or even 5 seems truly interesting as it will add less cards and more 2nd hand actions going on on the board. I can't wait to try it out with more and look forward to more plays of this game for sure.
