Thread: Living Forest:: Rules:: Tree victory question

I began playing Living Forest on BGA where each player starts the game at 1-1-1 because they each possess their own victory tiles. When I played my physical copy for the first time tonight, my friends and I noticed the rule book explicitly states the way to count forest victory is to count the number different/unique trees, including the starting tree, plus any victory tiles.

If that’s the case, shouldn’t the game start at 1-1-2 on BGA? Or is the rulebook wrong?
