I received a replacement copy of the lazy susan for my defective one. I looked at the old one. The plastic is glued to the base cardboard and you will destroy the design on it by removing the top clear plastic section. Ask me how I know.

Maybe not an issue if you’re painting the shell. But there will be no going back.
