Isn't the whole point of this game to allow for campaign play without the typical restrictions like having the same group of players present for each session?
There is also no "end" to the campaign, hence the subtitle.
It's basically an unlimited series of one-offs where you (singular) start where you left off last time, if that makes sense

...from what I am understanding the 'campaign' mode of this game seems more about playing in a common universe that is ever changing based on player decisions in each session. But each session is a single session with victory determined by common objective cards that feature different aspects of empire play styles and ethics.

As I understand it, each game session has a winner of the single session.

Ah! These descriptions are actually closer to what I remember when I backed this game (and explains why I backed it! ... Sometimes I forget). 🥴
Yeah, the way you guys describe it now is a refreshing take on campaign games, and is one I'm willing to give some time to. I know of several other [new] games which have taken the same approach (though I can't name them off the top of my head).
And Tom, thanks for the rest of your post... that's all interesting and good to know!
Hopefully, we will be able to play this game later this year if the 'fulfillment complete' milestone is achieved by Academy Games... 🙂
