I assume it refers to following rule also mentioned above : "The 'Move Silently' skill card cannot be applied to Ambush cards in solo mode. The player doesn't get to "choose" when those cards are revealed (answer from Keith to a related question)"
For the same reason, I understand that 'Knowledge' cannot be applied to Ambush cards because it also refers to a "chosen" shape.
However, I am wondering about 'Negotiate' as it doesn't refer to a "chosen" shape, but an "available" one... Can one apply 'Negotiate' to Ambush cards ?

Knowledge: During the Draw Phase, fill the chosen shape with village instead of an available terrain type.
Move Silently: During the Draw Phase, draw the chosen shape so that it overhangs the edge of the map. Do not draw any portions that overhang.
Negotiate: During the Draw Phase, draw a 2x2 shape instead of one the available shapes.
