Shot in the dark, but I will buy someone's 3D terrain empty box from them.

For a "light" version for 2 players (and to leave the rest of the box alone), i would take the cardboard tiles and color copy 2 playerboards with various duchys installed, then laminate them and use the cardboard playerboard and some custom markers. The only thing you are then missing is the trading goods, but you could be color copying them also on thick paper, cut them out and laminate them. For gold you could use small chips of plastic.
