Update, as I just played with my variant idea. Worked perfectly, even with it shooting up to 16 spaces again, lol. This time it was shuffling it's deck like 2-3 times quickly so it still got up that track no problem. This time though it wasn't dominating on all the elements, it was dominating on 2, doing average on 2, and poorly on 1, which is realistic to a player IMO. Really, the more times it gets the move explorers cards the less it does since that really doesn't earn it anything, but now with this expansion, having its explorers far away when it builds it trading posts really boosts it's progress up the track, which help balance out the lack of progress the explorer cards usually have.

This and with the future era cards, since there's no official ruling on how to incorporate them to a solo game, I have it that if you can place any matching resource (no coins allowed) on a card, it's yours, and any you don't are the bot's.
