The picture in the rulebook shows all 3 pieces touching each other


In Robert's picture the piece on the left and the right do not touch one another but they both do touch the one in the middle.

Thus you have something like this AAAABBBBCCCC
A touching B and B touching C, but not A and C touching (which is similar to Robert's picture, just aligned a little differently).

However, I'm not sure if every piece has to touch every piece like the image in the rulebook or as long as one piece touches another which touches another like with Robert's image is sufficient.
