I have been working on two fan factions for the last year or so, helped by my 12 year old daughter (who has a hamster) and my 14 year old son (who drew the hamster.) I know there are several wolf and farmer fan factions out there, but this is my take. The wolf art is borrowed from Will Fish's excellent Lupine Pact. Mine also features two wolf clans, but with a slightly different dynamic. I also want to thank the game club at the high school where I teach for helping me test the factions. I welcome any comments or questions. Also, I created everything using the snip tool and PowerPoint, so forgive any formatting issues. 🙂


The Moonlight Kingdom is made up of two rival clans of powerful hunters. Like the Lord of the Hundreds, they are great at stopping other factions, but leave a lot of tokens around for other factions to kill for points. They are also not very good against the Lizards or Cats.



The Farmers of Hamstershire plays like a peaceful Eurogame dropped into the middle of Root. I drew inspiration from my daughters aforementioned hamster, Pippin, as well as from Tolkien's hobbits. These little guys just want to be left alone. They race really fast, so they will need to shade their points so as not to be ganged up on too early.
