Thread: War of the Ring: Second Edition:: Rules:: Retreat question

Say a unit from dale retreats to erebor. Dale is not at war but can retreat if attacked. Does the unit then have to move out at next possible availability if it remains not at war? So if i had another army die, would I have to use it to move the units from dale out of erebor? Or can I use it to move another unit? Reason I ask is is under rules it says "next time they move they must move out of that nation." Does "they" imply the player or those particular units? So can I just keep them there forever if I want, or if i ever choose to move them, then the units would have to move out if not at war (compared to say going to another region or city/stronghold in that area).
