Why do people keep backing Kickstarters in 2024?

You have an established person that has released games before (and earned nice juicy cash from them) and a team that claims they have the background to perform well and not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Great! So go launch your game following the normal route and stop abusing kickstarter backers. Kickstarter was about helping independent creators make their passion projects come true, not industry professionals to load all the risk of a product to the consumer by appealing to their good conscience.

There is zero reason for anyone to back this or any project on Kickstarter. You should just go ahead and launch it retail and prove to us how committed you are.
