Yeah, the walkthrough has the only setup instructions that don't assume you have a previous game's chronicle to use. My group wanted to skip the walkthrough, like we did with Root, because that's just not how any of us like to learn. But when we realized we'd have to essentially house-rule the setup before knowing the game well enough to do so, we begrudgingly went through the walkthrough. (Sure, in retrospect, we could have done the walkthrough's setup and then diverged at the first actual player action, but that felt weird because the walkthrough put things in a specific starting arrangement that didn't seem possible from the "normal" rules, and we couldn't yet tell whether that mattered.)↧
