My one time nabbing a military win with the FP was when one time I retreated a large army into Osgiliath and realised they had left Mordor completely undefended. SP was out of dice that he could muster with, so I just walked my army right in there and took over.

I should note that we were both still rather unexperienced at the game, and SP has learned that it's a good idea to leave one army behind to block any potential retreats. I doubt he'll make such a mistake again.
