I read that: After building the Stronghold, take 1 Action token. As a Special action (once per Action phase), you may take a double-turn. (On this double-turn, take any 2 Actions one after another – passing is also considered an Action.)

Does this basically means that I take 2 turns in a row?
When my friend was explaining rules to me he said that when using this ability you choose an action to do, and then do this action TWICE - for example I could picked 2x Spades from the board, and then do that action twice- basically getting 4x Spades, even though it normally becomes exhausted after first use. This did sounded fishy to me, so I decided to ask here.
