I've not played the 6 player board/rules, but reviewing Mirror Vale, it seems that it works similarly to CopyCat from Small World: A Spider's Web. If this is true, then here is the further explanation offered for the CopyCat special power:"Note that some Special Powers only apply on a given turn (for instance "Wealthy" only works on your first turn, "Stout" only works if you go into Decline, etc.)"
Example:
You have had Wealthy Giants in play and already collected 7 VPs. Your ally chooses Hill Trolls and uses the mirror vale power to become Wealthy Trolls. It seems as though as long as that all occurs on the first turn they became Trolls, they could collect 7 VPs, also. But, any other turn, Wealthy would have no impact.
